WOW! Thank you very much for the coffee, I don’t know any other way to say it except Thank You very much!
We received the first box about a week and a half ago here, and I meant to write sooner but things have been a little crazy. I work in the Civil Military Operations section of our Battalion and we are at the point of our deployment where we are doing projects and things are happening all over our area.
We received a second and a third box on Friday. When I first read your letter it said 4 boxes and I thought you were referring to the packages as ‘boxes’ and thought, hey they sent 40, not 4, excellent! Then we got box two and three, and, well WOW! All the troops that drink coffee were pretty excited because we had really enjoyed your first shipment. The Surfing safari was a big hit as well as vacation villa vanilla, my personal favorite. One of the boxes was whole bean, with a grinder, thank you very much for that, and the other box we got Friday was ground. We put the box with the ground outside our office and all the packages were gone in about 20 minutes!
So, from the 134th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team (Red Bulls), 34th Infantry Division thank you very much for your generous donation.
I am trying to e mail everyone on the list you sent us and I have passed out the personal messages for everyone to read as well. It is nice to know that people back home are thinking of us and think well of us. We are doing good things over here and I couldn’t be more proud of the job our soldiers are doing over here.
I will give you a little background on our unit. Our unit was a National Guard unit called up, and most of the Brigade is based in Minnesota. We do have soldiers from 28 different states to help round out our unit. We trained for 6 months at Camp Shelby, Mississippi for our mission, spent about a month at Fort Polk, La, ad came over here near the end of March. Our battalion has many different missions and one of those missions is Civil Military Operations, or CMO. Our section is responsible for making sure the local Iraqi citizens understand why we are here and how we can help them make a better and safer Iraq. We have done quite a lot in our six months here and hope to accomplish more in the time before we leave.
Before this deployment I wasn’t much of a coffee drinker, but 18 hour days at Camp Shelby got me started. Unfortunately that was always icky Army coffee, bitter and black. Someone here had some gourmet coffee that a friend had sent them and I really enjoyed and thought I would buy some for the guys in our office. I subscribed to your service and also saw you had Operation 2 Million Cup and the next thing you know, you are sending GREAT coffee for our GREAT soldiers. I look forward to being a regular customer of your for years to come, and enjoying quality coffee from your company.
Please tell all of your staff and your customers that donated to all of the soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen thank you so very much for all they have done for us. Without the support of companies like yours and the people that donated to Operation 2 Million Cups, we wouldn’t have that first cup of coffee in the morning to REALLY look forward to!
I just gotta say it one more time, THANK YOU!
