First I would like to say "Thank You!!!" for the support of the troops overseas. Your donation allowed BocaJava to send us quite a bit of coffee and help improve our overall standard of living.
My name is SFC Carl C. and SGT Steve L., one of my junior NCOs (non-commissioned officers), received quite a donation of BocaJava coffee to share with the Platoon the other day along with a couple coffee bean grinders. I just wanted to express my appreciation for the generosity in doing this.
Just like in any job environment back home, a good cup of coffee really makes a difference in the overall outlook for the day and helps get the day going in the right direction. BocaJava coffee certainly helped in boosting morale on those cold desert mornings and the aroma of fresh ground coffee brewing in the morning is something definitely worth looking forward to. We also have some sneaky soldiers too and I learned to tie the coffee grinders to the table so they wouldn't walk off...LOL
Some of you may say "Thank you for the sacrifice you are making...". While we are certainly all volunteers the people who are doing the real sacrificing are our loved ones and spouses. When we deploy to a hostile area, we are leaving our daily lives and what ever might make up our day to day functions. We leave that portion of our lives behind to go to a combat zone however our new day to day duties are all "new" challenges and time goes by quickly because of those challenges. Our spouses and loved ones back home have to lead their own live -and- fill the void that is created when we leave. No "new" challenges for them to help keep the day exciting or make the time go by quicker, just twice as much normality. For them it can become difficult, overwhelming, or sometimes twice as boring when your spouse isn't there to share that time with. So if any of you are spouses or loved ones of people deployed then I salute you for -YOUR- sacrifice. If it wasn't for you, being deployed would be so much more difficult. If you know someone who is a spouse or loved one then let them know you appreciate the sacrifice they are making by supporting their Soldier, Sailor, Marine, or Airman who is deployed.
Again, from the bottom of my heart and from the men in my Platoon. Thank you for your support.
