Dear Boca Java,
Thank you for the 30 POUNDS of coffee that my unit just received. I think there must have been about 60 bags in there.
My name's CPT Phil L., I'm from Fort Hood Texas, I'm in the 3d ACR, and I'm the commander of one of the Cavalry Troops in the Regiment. We just got your box of coffee and hot chocolate about 3 days ago. Wow...thanks so much. We are stationed in Mosul Iraq, and the weather just turned freezing...great coffee weather.
We in the cav are big coffee drinkers, and after having to suffer through gallon sized plastic tubs of stale Maxwell House and drinking "coffee concentrate" mixed with water, this was a God-send.
You probably won't believe it, but 99% of the coffee is GONE! My unit alone has 1500 Troopers, we run 24 hour ops, and just one of our Cavalry Troops (about 150 soldiers) goes through about 4 of your bags of coffee in one day. We have seven Cavalry Troops. The coffee went super fast.
Just wanted to send a note to tell you thanks, and when you get a chance, we would LOVE to have another shipment of coffee....we'll need it, and we'd appreciate it big time.
Oh also, some of the guys' favorites (some of us drank your coffee back home too) are the whole bean Bananas Foster, the coconut-chocolate coffee, and the raspberry. Some of us bought ourselves little bean grinders in case we got our hands on some whole beans.
Thanks again for your support and your thoughts. Merry Christmas, and wish us luck. We have a big fight ahead of us, and are mourning the loss of our first Trooper who was killed 6 days ago, but the mission goes on. Wish us luck, and don't get too much sun back there in Florida!
Sincerely,
CPT Phil L.
