You all are AMAZING! When I received those boxes of coffee I was shocked! I couldn't believe that you all not only sent coffee but hot coco AND grinders!!! Just to let you know you all made everyone's day. And not only when they received the coffee but every time they brewed a new pot. They all couldn't believe that the coffee tasted as good as it smelled. Two weeks after we received your coffee care package all of the regular coffee was gone and the only coffee left was the decaf. We work really long hours and need to stay awake and alert so everyone tends to flock to the canine.
But we took a box up to some of the guys at the gate and I cannot explain to you how grateful they are. Every time I go up there they keep saying "Oh, YOU'RE the one that brought the coffee! Thank you so much!" Don't worry, I give you all the credit because I sure can't afford that much coffee on a PFC pay scale but they were all really appreciative. These guys are often neglected up at the gate because they're so far away from the main base. They work at least 12 hour shifts getting lunch brought to them in a "to go" box and only get a day or two off a month. The only reason I'm letting you know that is because when these guys get something like the care package that you sent, it means alot to them and it reminds them that people really do care back home. Sometimes working the hours that we have to work here wears you out and it's easy to forget that people back home still exist until you get a care package. And with that care package you remember why you love America so much and why you don't mind the long hours or the random sleep pattern.
And I don't know whether this might make you feel warm and fuzzy inside or not but alot of the officers have a stash of Starbucks that people have sent over and not one person (that I know of) has brewed a pot of Starbucks if they've had Boca java available. Just thought you might like to know that.
So there was a little line in your letter to me and I was hoping to take advantage of. It said "Don't hesitate to ask for more...If your unit has any "favorites", let us know and we will do our best to get some to you."
I asked around all the units I gave your coffee to and they all said they loved it all. They just wished they had more unflavored coffees so that they lasted longer. Alot of them would drink the regular coffee of different blends in the morning and then save a flavored coffee for the evening to treat themselves or just to relax from a stressful day. To be honest I think we still have about 20 bags of decaf, everyone here seems to be afraid of it as though they've never heard of a decaf coffee before. So if you all decided to send more the decaf, it would be wasted on us.
So in answer to your statement we would LOVE some more coffee! Anything with caffeine, and I'm sure that if your testing out a new blend everyone would love to try that out too. If you want, I have contacts to a bunch of people scattered around here and would love to forward on your coffee to them with whatever you want to send. Please let me know because after seeing the effect that your care package has on troops I would love to help spread it.
